Samsung Electronics today announced its new 1.5TB external hard drive ‘STORY Station’, which is designed to meet the explosive demand for external, secure and eco-friendly desktop PC storage. The 3.5-inch external hard drive features enhanced security software and a solid aluminum casing. The “STORY” is ideal for data backup of personal, hard-to-replace data, music, photos and video files.

To protect against data loss and security compromises, the new Samsung STORY Station features three important safety features: Samsung Auto Backup, SecretZone and SafetyKey. Samsung Auto Backup backs up data in real time or through a prearranged schedule. With Samsung’s SafetyKey your backed-up data can be securely saved by setting a password. Finally, a feature I particularly like, Samsung’s SecretZone allows you to protect confidential info by creating a virtual drive which provides encryption for data security.

The Samsung STORY Station is scheduled for release in May with initial shipments to Europe, and then released in other regions of the world subsequently.
